Sales melted a bit, as both dollar sales and unit volume were down from the previous tracked period. Private label held on to the top spot again, just slightly ahead of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream. When consumers want to indulge in this category, they are gravitating toward premium brands, as Haagen-Dazs and Unilever's Ben & Jerry's fared well. Blue Bunny, which has rolled out a number of new products, also posted solid results.
