That for some years the NSW average annual rate of detention per 100,000 people aged 10-17 years fell but is now rising and that the gap between the NSW and the national average is no longer narrowing. It is too early to indicate if the earlier downward trend is now reversing. The graph represents national comparative data counting rules and does not include all people in juvenile detention.
